Design for manufacture and assembly (DfMA) enablers for offsite interior design and construction

Interior design and construction (IDC) is a sophisticated often prolonged process that delivers building to occupation. Traditional practice rather unproductive, involving the work of several different trades crowded in situ delivered sequentially one after another. To enhance productivity IDC, offsite receiving increasing attention as innovation along with Design for Manufacture Assembly (DfMA), an emerging concept industry. This paper aims investigate IDC develop set DfMA enablers better achieving this process. It undertakes literature review, case study, 18 semi-structured interviews. support its production line, standardized procedure, automated machinery, supply chain, 10 are adopted, such early collaboration, standardization simplification, light material selection. These findings indicate paradigm shift not only interior methodology but also professional research enriches on particular their synergy, offers new model designers practitioners.
